Creating The Great Kiva was a very powerful time. She needed to be rebuilt three times and we all needed to learn how to do this. I had to teach them how to do the bricks, the mortar. We worked the whole say non-stop and then have a sweat lodge at the end to pray for strength to build it.The last renovation took us 21 days and women from everywhere came for 4 days and worked on the Kiva with me. They would leave and another group would arrive to work with me, until we finished. The Kiva will hold 34 people and it is an elevator by nature. I just love our Kiva. We always need to be sure that all the temples are maintained.
